Once Upon a Mattress is the “true” tale of the Princess and the Pea. In a kingdom ruled by the evil Queen Agravin and her mute husband King Sextimus, no one is allowed to get married until Price Dauntless, their son, finds his bride. To do this, each prospective princess must pass a test. When the word gets out that there’s “An Opening for a Princess” princess Winnifred the Woebegone comes to take her shot.
Audiences young and old will enjoy this unconventional take on a classic fairy tale. The witty and exciting plot will keep the audiences laughing and on their toes throughout the production. The show is full of exhilarating dance numbers and musical numbers that will be stuck in your head for days.
“It’s sure to be a good time for everyone, cast, crew, and audience alike,” gushes sophomore Audra Moore.
IHS student actors, musicians, and technical crew have spent countless hours over the last few months preparing for the show. These students, from all grades have come together to ensure that the audience gets to see a great show.
“Everyone should come see the show because it’s a great way to support the arts at IHS. We’ve all been working so hard on our performance and it’ll really be something you don’t want to miss,” encourages junior Alyssa McLaine.
The hard work and dedication these students have shown is truly impressive, and the show promises to be an unforgettable display of their efforts.
“People should come see the show so they can see how much work has been put forth by the crew and the cast. It has been a fantastic experience and provides ample opportunities to make friends and reach out to those you may not see during the school day,” expresses freshman Aviana Struzzi.
Everyone should come out this weekend to enjoy this fun, romantic, and hilarious show that is sure to please audiences of all ages.
