Indiana Area Senior High School

By EMMA NORMAN – Each year, the hockey team never fails to keep its fans on the edge of their seats. The team has done just that this season. As the season comes to an end, the team carries a record of 8-5-2-1.

The team has fought hard to keep up and push forward through the season. Junior Orlando Clark remarked, “Overall we are having a pretty good season, so far.  We have had our ups and downs but have started to turn it on for the end of the season. A lot of people didn’t think we had a chance this year after losing last year’s seniors.  I think that has motivated us to play better and prove them wrong.”

The team this year has only two seniors, but they have persevered and showed leadership that has inspired the whole team. Senior and team captain Owen Lydick commented, “As one of the very few seniors on the team, I feel very proud to be playing with the same kids I started playing hockey with when I was little.  It certainly is a bit of a special thing to be a senior and team captain on my last year. Our team’s biggest strengths are speed, teamwork, and a lot of promising talent.”

The team consists of hardworking and dedicated students who have put forth a lot of time and effort to make sure they end the season strong. Lydick adds, “Playing well and giving all my effort is all I can do and as long as I do, no matter the outcome of the season, I know I did my best.”

Junior Zach Eisenhower is hoping to make it to the playoffs this year remarking, “I am expecting to make playoffs and have a long run with the team.”
