By HANNAH STELE – The footfalls approach like thunderclaps. A bellowing guffaw fills the air. As the door forcefully slams open, there he stands: Nath’s worst nightmare, donuts in hand.
Senior Parker Koons is a fourth-year staff member of the High Arrow and a third-year business manager.
During his time at the High Arrow, he has made significant contributions, such as his groundbreaking article “To Bee or Not to Bee,” which concerned the yellow and black insects that Mrs. Hixson values so deeply.
Koons often provided necessary materials for the class such as fried rings of absolute delight. “The reason I brought donuts over 20 times for the class is that I realized it would help the mood of my peers,” he trumpeted.
When asked what advice he would give to future journalism students, he offered, “Be prepared to write. Be prepared for constructive criticism, you don’t want to go into this [class] thinking that you know everything.”
“Don’t wait to the last minute to get your articles in like me,” teased Koons. “And always remember to listen to your editors!”
His echoing laugh, lumberjack-esque appearance, and most importantly, his donut days will absolutely be missed.
