Variety Show collects funds for Teddy Bear Fund Drive

By Ella Mosco

The Variety Show is an annual event on Teddy Bear Fund Drive Day to raise money for the Teddy Bear Fund Drive. Auditions for the variety show were on December 13 after school. Auditions were held to go over the acts with students who wished to participate and perform. Mrs. Tammy Glavach and Mrs. Tara Pangonis have been in charge of planning and overseeing auditions for the variety show for the past two years.

During the show, some hosts helped engage the audience. Hosts also participated in games with the students and staff. Being a host is a very important role of the variety show, they are what keep the energy high and the environment fun. This makes the variety show especially entertaining.

The show consisted of trivia, PBIS drawings, student and staff performances including a teacher dance team,  and a rap battle between senior John Trevorrow and Dr. Scott Layden to end the show.

Senior Jaiden Myers, a host for the variety show, commented on his role as a host. “As a co-host for the show, my role [was] to work with Emma in bringing the energy and making it seem as fun as possible. As well as co-hosting I [danced] in 1 or 2 of the acts which [was] a ton of fun.”

Senior Emma Masengale was the other host of the show. Emma detailed her part in the show. “As host, I [was] in charge of introducing the acts and getting the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the show. As far as hosting, we [did] some trivia games throughout the show. I like bringing the energy to rooms, so I [was] excited to get the crowd entertained!”

Attending the variety show was a great way to end the year before winter break. It brought all students together while watching their peers show off their talents.
