Student predictions and results of Super Bowl LVI

By MICHAEL JADZAK

The Rams and Bengals fought hard to get to their place. Joe Burrow and Matt Stafford both threw for a combined 75 touchdowns this season. Star wide receivers for both teams Cooper Kupp and Ja’marr Chase have a combined 226 receptions and 29 touchdowns this season.

That doesn’t mean the defense doesn’t have any stars either, Rams Aaron Donald has a combined 12.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles, and corner Jalen Ramsey combining for 77 tackles and tying a season high 4 interceptions. Bengals cornerbacks Eli Apple and former Steeler Mike Hilton have proven themselves defensive threats.

Not everyone wanted to see these teams in the Super Bowl, and many people had many different predictions. Sophomore Trey Adams expressed, “I wanted the Steelers at first to make it to the Super Bowl due to it being Big Ben’s last year and wanting to end it on a “bang”. I also wanted the Buccaneers to win because if Big Ben can’t get another ring then Tom Brady must.”

Everyone tries their absolute best to predict what will happen in the Super Bowl, whether it be the score, the injuries, the stats, people love to bet on what will happen in the biggest game of the NFL. Freshman Logan FIsher predicted, “The Rams are going to win 42-32.”

Both teams worked hard and overpowered the other teams in their way, but who deserved it the most? Sophomore Evan Speer said, “Matt Stafford because he played for the Lions half his career.”

With the big game over the Los Angeles Rams come out on top as Super Bowl LVI Champions! With a final score of 23-20. It was an exciting game filled with long touchdown passes, botched snaps with a mix of terrible calls and bad missed calls. It is a theory that every Super Bowl is fixed, but it is also important to remember that football is never won or lost on one play. The rest of the game matters as much.

The Rams have now captured their second Super Bowl win in franchise history, and Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Andrew Whitworth and Matt Stafford all capture their very first and much deserved Super Bowl ring
