By JORIE MEIL – The verdict is in! It’s time to go see the IHS winter play! The Indiana Area Senior High will present 12 Incompetent Jurors this weekend, January 10 and 11. The shows begin at 7:30, the house opens at 7:00, and tickets will be $6 at the door. It will be performed in ¾ thrust and the audience will be on the stage, so there will be limited seating.

“Everyone should definitely come to see the production of 12 Incompetent Jurors because it’s a rare experience. It’s definitely a good production,” stated cast member and sophomore Avery Olenchick.

The play is a parody of the famous play 12 Angry Men, but, instead of a murder, the jurors on the case must decide whether the suspect is guilty of abducting half a dozen cats. A crazy combination of people such as a married couple, a sassy teen, and a man obsessed with French fries make for an unpredictable and comical retelling of a classic story.

The show will be performed in ¾ thrust which means the audience will be surrounding the actors on three sides. This will give the audience a feeling of being in the room with the jurors while they reach their verdict.

“This current show is much different than our typical ones due to the fact that it is in 3/4 thrust, where the audience sits on the stage. This allows for a more personal experience and for everyone to see this fun and energetic show up close,” exclaimed cast member and sophomore Caitlin Wilson.

The hilarious and odd characters will be played by an ensemble cast made up of students from all grades. The show features freshman Sophie Rungee, sophomores Avery Olenchick, Caitlin Wilson, Carson Midkiff, and Adeline Loyal, juniors Justin Reese, Bastian Webber, and Audra Moore, and seniors Alyssa McLaine, Danny Lee, Reese McFarlane, Lily Boulard, and Maddie Caroff.

“You should come to this show because everyone in the cast and crew, as well as director Mrs. Lyons, have all worked so hard to make this show as good as it is. It’s a really funny show full of jokes for everyone, and I know anyone who sees it will love it,” exclaimed McFarlane.

If you are looking for something fun to do on a dull January weekend, stop by and have a laugh at the IHS winter play, 12 Incompetent Jurors.
