High Arrow Spotlight: Editor in Chief Meghan Rummel

By MADELINE SHIRLEY

Meghan Kennedy Rummel (Meghan Rummel) is a senior on the IHS High Arrow Newspaper Staff and the current Editor in Chief. She has been a part of the staff since her freshman year. Rummel has worked very hard on the school’s newspaper and yearbook staffs.

Rummel went from panicking because she realized she accidentally signed up for the school newspaper to becoming editor. When Rummel signed up for Journalism she had no idea she would be in the school newspaper, she thought that they would be writing and journaling. Although Rummel does not know for sure what she would like to do in the future, she feels that she is headed towards a career with children or a field involving psychology.

Some of the things Rummel enjoys include: taking naps, watching shows on Netflix like “Shameless,” “Orange is the New Black,” and “The Vampire Diaries,” along with cooking, drawing/painting, and hanging out with her friends, especially her best friend Alivia.

Meghan is also a part of a big family, “I have a very big family, but as far as siblings go, I have two half-sisters named Gracie and Lilly and a half-brother named Brentlee.” Rummel also has several pets “including a hermit crab, a tortoise, two birds, 18 guinea pigs, a toad, and 8 dogs. I also have a farm where we have four more dogs, and I have a horse named Star that I show at the Cookport Fair.”

Rummel has been to many places in her lifetime including Florida, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. Her favorite place to travel to is New Jersey because she goes on vacation there and goes to the beach.

When listening to music, Rummel’s go-to songs are, “Bound 2” by Kanye West, “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, and “Love Me” by Lil Wayne. She also enjoys listening to SZA, Drake, and The Weeknd.

Meghan loves the color olive green and loves any food that involves meatballs or buffalo chicken. However, Rummel does not like tomatoes, onions, burgers, or avocados.

Meghan Rummel is guiding the Journalism class to success in many different ways and has achieved a great deal in her four years on the High Arrow Staff.
