The cafeteria staff workers are passionate about what they do, ensuring the kids of IHS have healthy lunches that they will enjoy eating. There is a lot more that goes into what cafeteria workers have to do daily to make sure everyone will be satisfied with their lunch.
Cafeteria worker Eleanor Bland said that some of her favorite things to do are, “Dealing with the students and all of the different age levels, getting to see the kids and talk to them. Some of the favorite foods that I make are the specialty pizzas and most of the items in the main line.”
Cafeteria workers pride themselves on giving students healthy lunch options and providing the best service possible. They work tirelessly to make IHS lunches for all students and staff to enjoy.
Senior Chris Norton commented, “The lunch ladies are always very nice and very respectful. They always have everything prepared on time, put in a lot of work, and never fail to put a smile on my face.”
About two weeks ago the cafeteria presented a new option to the menu by serving samples of pineapple Thai fried rice, and chicken fried rice. Students were given both and were able to vote on which one they enjoyed the most. The winning meal was the pineapple Thai fried rice, which was then served the following Monday.
The cafeteria offers different lines for food, one of the lines offering specialty pizzas, chicken tenders, burgers, Bosco sticks, and more. The other line is where they provide the main options, which change every day and can be anything like walking tacos, pasta, General Tso’s chicken, and so much more.
Senior Ben Froud added, “The [cafeteria workers] have always given me a great experience, both with them and with the food. Some of my favorite things to get are the French bread pizza and the chicken tenders.”
