IHS opines on popular writer Colleen Hoover

By MADELINE SHIRLEY

Colleen Hoover is an author who writes books that many people read including students at IHS. Her book’s have become more popular lately and her books have been getting more attention from IHS students.

Hoover has produced many popular books including; It Ends With US, It Starts With US, Ugly Love, Verity, November 9th, Reminders of Him, All Your Perfects, and many more. Hoovers’ books tend to be romance and young adult fiction.

Many students and staff at IHS have read copies of Hoover’s books and there are many different opinions on her writing.

Sophomore Rachel Gill states, “I like reading her books because of the way she writes. She always leaves each chapter on a cliffhanger and that makes me want to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next.”

Along with Gill, sophomore Kara Nelson likes reading many of Hoover’s books in her free time, “When I have spare time I like to pick up one of her books and continue reading it. I like to read them because Colleen Hoover writes well and keeps me interested in her books.”

Although there are many good opinions about Hoover’s books, some students don’t prefer the way she writes.

Sophomore Grace Bowersox states, “I like Colleen Hoover’s books and I like reading them but I also personally feel that her books are very repetitive.”

Along with Bowersox, junior Lizzy Olsen says, “I wouldn’t normally pick up a Colleen Hoover book to read first because to me, her writing can get boring because they tend to follow the same style but, sometimes I like to read them.”

Many different opinions are out there on the popular author Colleen Hoover, both positive and negative from students at IHS. There are also many people not from IHS that have similar opinions on this writer.
