Indiana Area Senior High School

By SARAH PIERCE – On May 3, freshman Olivia Zimmerman was named Trib HSSN softball player of the week.

“Being named player of the week really made me feel more confident in myself. I was quite surprised being named player of the week, but at the same time, I was super-proud of myself and excited. I’m looking forward to the season by taking it game by game and hopefully making it to playoffs and then going from there!”

Olivia is one of the three Zimmerman sisters mentioned in the article (written by Don Rebel) on their website at

Her sisters are Haleigh and Sara, and she has a younger brother Michael.

Olivia’s sister, senior Sara Zimmerman stated, “When I heard about the article, I was proud of Olivia getting player of the week. She really does deserve it with all the work she has been putting in for years. My favorite part of the season is getting to play with my sister. It’s been an amazing year.”

Olivia is a freshman at IHS, Sara is a senior, and Haleigh is now a sophomore at IUP. Olivia is the varsity pitcher for the IHS softball team.

One of Olivia’s closest friends, freshman Kyla Weaver stated, “I am not surprised at all that Livi got the player of the week. She has worked so hard to get where she is today. I am beyond proud of Livi. Livi’s dedication to her team and softball consistently made me push myself to where I am with my sports.”

This season so far, Olivia has 5 home runs, 17 RBIs, 116 strikeouts, and only 22 walks.

Not only should Olivia’s family and friends be proud of all her hard work, but more importantly she should be beyond proud of herself.
