The Super Bowl: Sunday’s biggest stage

By Sami Williams

It’s finally here, the final game of the NFL, the Super Bowl! The Super Bowl is the most-watched NFL game, as thousands of people watch it worldwide. This year, the Super Bowl is on Sunday, February 8. The game takes place at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, California. The Seattle Seahawks will play against the New England Patriots.

People will probably be cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, as most are tired of seeing the New England Patriots win. The Patriots are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl victories, with both teams having 6 Super Bowl trophies. Mr. James Dykun, IHS French teacher, commented, “I will be cheering for the Seahawks, because who likes the Patriots?” Although Junior Sydney Adamsky will be cheering for the Seahawks, she commented, “I think the Patriots will win even though I want the Seahawks to take home the win because the Patriots are a more organized team and they have better coaches.” Regardless of who comes out on top, it should be an exciting game.

The Super Bowl should be a nail-biter, as most people predicted it to be a high-scoring, close game. Junior, Matthew Gonos commented, “It will be a high-scoring game as both teams have great offenses.” The Seattle Seahawks have averaged 28.4 points per game this season, with the New England Patriots coming in with 28.8 points per game. Stakes are high for both teams, as the last time the Patriots claimed a Super Bowl victory was in 2019, and the Seahawks haven’t won since 2014. They faced each other in 2015, where the Patriots narrowly defeated the Seahawks with a final score of 28-24.

Entertainment is also a big part of the Super Bowl. People who are not big fans of football will watch the Super Bowl just for the halftime show and commercials. The Super Bowl has offered humorous commercials and electrifying halftime shows. This year, Bad Bunny will be performing in the Super Bowl halftime show.
